The Consolidated B-32 Dominator was a powerful American bomber used by the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. Notably, it holds the distinction of being the last Allied aircraft to see combat in the war, and its final mission also marked the last American airman to be killed in combat during World War II.

The ships of the Jacob van Heemskerck class of the Royal Netherlands Navy were constructed as specialised air defence frigates. It was a further developement out of the Standard-frigates. Two ships were built. They served for about twenty years in the R.Neth. navy. Since 2005 both are in service as the Almirante Latorre class in the Chilean Navy.

To counter a growing threat of Soviet submarines and aircraft shortly after WWII, the Royal Netherlands Navy ordered new ships. Classified as ASW destroyer (onderzeebootjager), but so close to contemporary destroyers in terms of specifications. Still suffering from the havoc of war the national industry managed to design and construct these ships in two classes.

Dit boek beschrijft het ontwerp, de bouw en de geschiedenis van deze twintig schepen. Het geeft tevens een inkijk in de levensomstandigheden van de Koninklijke Marine in de vorige eeuw.

De Fokker T.8-W was een in 1938 op verzoek van de Marineluchtvaartdienst (MLD) ontworpen tweemotorige torpedobommenwerper en verkenner op drijvers voor de net opgerichte torpedodienst. Het vliegtuig was bestemd voor zowel de Nederlandse kustverdediging als voor Nederlands-Indië.

Het toestel was in 1937 ontworpen en markeerde tegelijk voor Fokker de overgang naar een nieuwe constructie. Er werden 36 toestellen gebouwd die dienst hebben gedaan bij de MLD.

HNLMS De Ruyter and De Zeven Provinciën were the last solitary cruisers armed with

Developed in the 1960s by General Dynamics, the F-111 pioneered variable-sweep

wings, afterburning turbofan engines, and automated terrain-following radar for

low-level, high-speed ¿ight. Its design in¿uenced later variable-sweep wing aircraft,

and some of its advanced features have become commonplace. Being relatively

expensive to maintain amid post-Cold War budget cuts, the USAF elected to retire

its F-111 ¿eet during the 1990s.

HMCS Haida was a destroyer of the Tribal-class serving in the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) from 1943-1963. During World War II, Haida sank more enemy surface tonnage than any other Canadian warship. In the Korean War the ship did two tours of duty.

Nowadays she is the only surviving Tribal-class destroyer out of 27 units that were constructed between 1937-1945 for the Royal Navy, Royal Australian Navy, and the Royal Canadian Navy.
