'Noem me Ismaël' is een korte roman waarin Herman Melvilles 'Moby Dick wordt' verweven met de levensverhalen van psychiatrische patiënten. Tegelijk is het een fotoboek waarin het terrein van een psychiatrische instelling met infra-rood fotografie is vastgelegd in verstilde, vervreemdende beelden; afdrukken van voor het menselijk oog niet-waarneembaar licht. Door deze techniek te gebruiken verbeelden de kunstenaars de voelbare maar niet zichtbare, geladen sfeer van het terrein.
