Toegepaste wiskunde deel 1 (6e druk, 2016) behandelt de wiskundeleerstof voor de propedeusefase. Het boek is geschikt voor alle opleidingen in het hoger technisch onderwijs.

In deel 1 krijgt de student veel oefeningen aangereikt. Met voorbeelden wordt de student door de stof geleid. Er is veel gedaan om het inzicht en de routine in wiskundige concepten te vergroten, maar ook wiskundige contexten krijgen voldoende aandacht. Uitvoerige, formele bewijzen komen nauwelijks voor.
