studeerde geschiedenis aan de KULeuven (1980). Hij was actief in diverse geschied- en heemkundige verenigingen. In 1998 werkte hij mee aan activiteiten ter gelegenheid van de 200-jarige herdenking van de Boerenkrijg. Nadien bestudeerde hij gedurende veertien jaar zeer intens de archieven over de bokkenrijders.
