Honderd jaar geleden werd de Britse filosofe en romanschrijfster Iris Murdoch geboren (1919-1999). Ze is vooral bekend om haar romans. Met haar boek 'De zee, de zee' won ze de prestigieuze Booker Prize in 1978.
