Follow the river

Danube, Rhône, Bow, Mississippi, Chao Phraya, Buffalo Bayou, Tagus, Meuse, North Sea. Follow the River shows how designers who cherish the river are creating beautiful projects in many places. Projects in which the river is approached with care, love, knowledge, and creativity, whether far upstream or at the very end, at the mouth. In which the river and its natural environment are given space again, while people can enjoy it in park-like environments.

We have collected twelve such projects and placed them along an imaginary river that rises in the mountains of central Europe and then flows through Canada, the United States, Thailand, and Portugal before emptying into the Dutch delta.

Supplemented with inspiring interviews, in-depth essays, and a surprising visual story, this publication is an ode to the beauty of the river.
