Liquid Gold is a collection of poems inspired by the Japanese age old concept of Kintsugi - in which they glue gold on shards of broken pottery to mend them again. The philosophy behind it is to show the world our scars, instead of hiding it. It's about embracing all of our felt emotions as a human being, to take our broken hearts - not to discharge it - but to alchemize it into a new whole - to celebrate our new being.
Liquid Gold is also inspired by my obsession for tea. One of the rarest tea is yellow tea, or yellow gold tea - in which the process of making it is far from easy. Each chapter of this poetry collection is inspired by this unique, extensive process. From harvest to the last step of brewing yourself a cup of liquid gold. In the end, you can taste the hard work, the perseverance, the love, the patience and the frustration - all in one cup.
This is Liquid Gold.
