Raspberry Pi Pico is het eerste product dat is gebouwd op silicium dat intern is ontworpen door Raspberry Pi ("Raspberry Silicon"). Het hart van de Pico is de RP2040, een door Raspberry Pi ontworpen chip met twee ARM Cortex-M0+ cores geklokt op 133MHz met 256KB RAM, 26 GPIO-pinnen en een breed scala aan interface-opties. Dit wordt gecombineerd met 2 MB ingebouwd QSPI Flash-geheugen voor code- en gegevensopslag. Het board is te programmeren in MicroPython en C/C++, kan worden geflashed via mass storage over USB en heeft een breed ingangspanning bereik (~1.8 tot 5.5V).
